You are worthy of success

Many people understand the salvation message – that we have been saved by grace through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

This is great, but so often we can fail to embrace ALL that was done for us at the cross.

Jesus also opened the way for us to be successful in every area of life.

Because of Him, you are worthy of SUCCESS!!!

Have you ever thought deeply about that?

Here’s a list of words which describe success:

Fruitful; outstanding; prosperous; wealthy; blooming; champion; crowned; extraordinary; flourishing; noteworthy; thriving; triumphant; unbeaten; undefeated; victorious; strong; at the top; on track; fortuitous; happy; strong

The bible is filled with passages which remind us that God is a good Father. He has great plans for us, plans to give us hope and make us successful (Jeremiah 29:11). A couple of other passages, though there are hundreds more:

John 15:8 I pray that you bear MUCH fruit … you bring my Father glory when you do

3 John 1:2 Brothers, I pray that you prosper in ALL things (all things actually includes ALL things)

These verses remind us that Jesus not only died for our eternal salvation, but also to be successful and prosper in THIS LIFE – RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW – AND IN ALL THINGS  (John 10:10)

It’s a life-long journey to take hold of all the fullness of life He died to give us, and I’m so grateful God is committed to our journey.

Something happened for me this week which brought me great freedom.

It came about as a result as I continued on my journey of pursuing my health and fitness goals .

This area has been a battle for me, particularly since having children 25 years ago. (That’s a long time to battle!)  Prior to that I loved sport, was very fit, and played a few different sports four nights a week.

So in attempt to recommit to my goals afresh, last week I signed up for a weekly sessions with a personal trainer again (I quit with him a year ago, and it shows). I’ve also resumed a regular exercise routine at home again too.

So this morning, as I climbed aboard my treadmill and powered away, I was completely surprised when the Lord whispered a deep truth into my heart. He said “Carolyn, you are worthy of success.”

I was blown away – “I’m what Lord???”

“Carolyn, you are worthy of success”.

This caused me to realize that because I’d tried many times before to ‘succeed’ in this area, I had taken gradually taken on a lie in my subconscious.

Graeme Cooke says “If you don’t go after your subconscious, it will go after you”.

It is so true.

My subconscious was telling me “Carolyn, you’ve tried to do this so many times before, and you’ve failed, come on …. you know you can’t do it!!”

So, over time, I began to believe the lie “Carolyn, you are not worthy of success”.

This lie was a stronghold, and it was undermining my ability to succeed in this area, and so I’ve continued to “fail”.

The thoughts which are lurking in our subconscious mind are very powerful – they definitely determine our level of success – and ultimately, they shape our destiny.

Lies need dealing with.

And that’s what I did this morning.

What was the lie?

“I don’t deserve success in this area of my life”

But what is the truth?

It is this – “I DECLARE I am VERY WORTHY OF SUCCESS – in absolutely EVERY AREA of my life – because of ALL that Jesus has done!  (3 John 1:2)

The verse I took hold of to demolish this lie is in 2 Corinthians 10:4  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Praise God – His truth sets us free!

I now believe that I am worthy of success in this area of my life.

I am renewing my mind by continuing to declare this. As I do, the truth sinks deep into my subconscious.

The results WILL come because our actions always follow our beliefs. Praise God!

In my life, I am simply not prepared to believe I am in any way less than who God says I am. Nor will I settle for less than what Jesus has died to give me.

Are you?

God wants you free, powerful and successful in every single area of your life.

Perhaps you could take a minute to reflect upon your own life   ……

Is there is an area in which you are held back? (perhaps it’s your relationships, dreams, finances or some other goal)

In which areas are you constantly struggling?

It is quite possible that your struggle is connected to a lie that you are believing about yourself.

Unless it is identified and dealt with, it will continue to sabotage your success in that area.

Ask God to show you an area in your life where you consistently experience defeat, and you struggle to be successful.

Now ask Him to show you if there’s a lie that you are believing? (mine was I’m not worthy to be successful because I’ve tried so many times before and “failed”)

Now repent and renounce the lie – demolish the stronghold in Jesus name (2 Cor 10:4).

Now take hold of the truth. (for me it was “I am worthy of success” (because of Jesus)  – and they are the words God whispered to me on the treadmill.

Declare ten times what the truth is, and over the next few days continue to do this.

As you do, you will renew your mind and you you will see victory in that area of your life.

Remember today that Jesus died an agonizing but all together victorious death, so that you would be saved, free, whole, powerful, fruitful and successful – in EVERY area of your life.

Don’t settle for less.

Give Jesus His full reward.

Because of Him, you ARE worthy of success.

God bless you,

Love Carolyn
